Ezra's First Post!

Today's agenda is as follows:

Take a min, blog/corrections.

Week one quiz.

Week 2 G.Q.Q.L

The writing process.

(It is currently very hard not to add brain rot to this blog)

As usual we started the day by reviewing the previous blog. Solomon's literature skills are immaculate, and the blog was extraordinary. Nason gave me a comment asking me to use everyone's fake names, but I felt it would not be professional for a higher class blog such as this. After we took a minute and got settled, we decided to start on the quiz that we so unfortunately missed last Friday. We were told it was open note, and began to take the quiz. The quiz went fairly fast, only a few minutes. After the quiz was done, we moved on to our notebook work.

I was wondering what the "L" meant in G.Q.Q.L. It was revealed that it meant lines as in lines from a poem, rather than a song. Nason was nice enough to bring me my backpack, and I thank him for that. Getting back to the notes, this week's grammar is on pronouns. We were told that they are words that take the place of a noun. The class wanted to add "y'all" to the original notes. Truman gave an excellent suggestion of adding "it" to the third person pronouns.

The quote we were given was, "To build a community requires vigilant awareness of the work we must do to undermine all the socialization that leads us to perpetuate domination." bell hooks. We then discussed what this Black feminist author meant by this quote, and decided that she meant that; you can't have a community that does not have some sort of dominant force, and to undermine that takes courage, work, and dedication. We also talked about the inevitability of domination, and its pros and cons.

After that discussion, we moved on to our reading journals, where all we did was mark a section. After which, we moved back to our writing journal where we talked and wrote about the writing process. The overall process was easiest to write in a numbered list format.

1. Pre writing- Thinking about the idea/task

We couldn't do any more, because the bell rang around three minutes after we started writing.
