Yummy Blog Time

We all shuffled into the classroom and started by writing the agenda in our binder reminders. Danny reads his blog, and it was so beautiful we all cried. Ms. Nakada corrects the blog with the class and has a heated discussion with Solomon and Ezra about whether you put songs in quotation marks or if you underline them (she was right). We then begin taking out our reading journals while Ms. Nakada makes sure we do our homework like good little children. We also do some delightful reading time. Danny asks me if I did a good job praising his blog, I think I did a pretty good job.

During reader's workshop Ms. Nakada checks on our reading. She asks what book we are reading, what page we are on, if we switched books or not, and if we are doing iReady. Everyone is doing so well on their reading! Ms. Nakada also tells us to update our independent reading plan because she noticed that some of us already abandoned it. Ms. Nakada finished her book! Ms. Nakada explains to us how we should try to notice our reading patterns in our independent reading plan, and why it is important that we keep track of what we are doing so we can find a book or genre that we actually enjoy. The class has a moment of silence while we continue reading and updating our independent reading plans. Ethan goes to the bathroom and Jaxon gets some hand sanitizer.

Ms. Nakada shows us our new assignment, a School Trip A.C.E. that we will be doing on our own. We all take a minute to think about what we want to do for our A.C.E. MS. Nakada also shows us an example A.C.E. that she made to help inspire us. We can also do a visual (drawing) for extra credit! We all look through our books for a good prompt. Some of us begin writing. Some of us begin yapping.

Ms. Nakada asked if we should spend the rest of the period on our A.C.E.s so we can finish them today and some people answered "maybe".

Ms. Nakada tells us to begin packing up and some people turn in their A.C.E.s. Then the bell rings and the period is over...
