NaNoWriMo session I

Pep Talk #2

NaNoWriMo session II

write-in tomorrow!

HW: Novels 70%! (60% tomorrow or call home)

Start of Class:

We all walked into class as the bell rang. A few students went over to the noveling progress chart before it was time for us all to be seated at the of start class. Caoimhe presented her outstanding blog and then told Ms. Nakada that she wanted to do the wheel of names to pick the next blogger. I had, had much luck with previous wheel's so I figured that my luck would still last. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Caoimhe suggested that Ms. Nakada put my name on 15 times. However, Ms. Nakada tested out a new function on the wheel that allowed her to adjust the percentage of how likely it would land on someones name. I couldn't exactly remember how high of a percent was placed on my name, but I knew it was more than the other students on the wheel. She spun the wheel and slowly but surely it landed on my name.

NaNo Session I:

It was now time to start the NaNoWriMo writing session number one. I got out of my seat and headed to the bloggers chair to begin my blog. While I worked on the blog everyone was quietly typing on their computers and working on their Novels.

Lines:

A shuttle bell next to the bloggers chair rang and Ms. Nakada told us to all get our notebooks out to finish the lines that we had left off on yesterday. Ms. Nakada reminded us that we would be the writers of our lines this week. She gave us all some time to browse on our chromebook for our favorite line from our novels. She told us to paste a line from our novels onto Schoology. A few students were having trouble with choosing a line so Ms. Nakada gave us some tips and ideas on what to look for. After some time, Ms. Nakada gave a few shout outs to students who had submitted their lines.

Pep Talk #2:

Ms. Nakada then transitioned to the pep talk that she does before we continue to novel. She asked us which author's pep talk we wanted her to read with us. We all decided on Neil Gaiman the author of Coraline, and American Gods. This pep talk was about the muddy middle and end of novels. The pep talk was a great reminder of the fact that it's normal for novels to become more challenging deeper into the month. The pep talk ended with a good luck note, and then it was time to start NaNo Session number two.

NaNo Session II:

Ms. Nakada reminded us all to get back into writing our novels and to stay dedicate to finishing. We started our final 10 minute writing session for today. While everyone was typing, the loud NaNoWriMo celebration sound effect went off multiple times which made my heart jump. Many of us started talking about how that sound was a jump scare, before we all re-gained our focus. Then the timer went of and it was time to wrap up our writing.

Write-in passes:

Ms. Nakada walked around the class and gave us each a write-in pass. She explained to us what it was, and gave us all permission to come and join her in a write-in which would be held on Friday. She let us know that we could write in her room all day as long as our teachers were okay with it. She also told us that we could bring snacks as a writing reward.

End of Class:

Finally Ms. Nakada told us that it was time to pack and get ready to leave class. We all shuffled around and gathered our belongings before the bell rang indicating that it was the end of class. I was glad that I had completed my second blog.
