DECEMBER 9th, 2024:

I sat down in the bloggers chair this beautiful Monday morning, the first person to make three blogs in our class. I open the bloggers computer, only to be greeted by the usual technical difficulties I have grown used to in the modern day. Ms. Nakada quickly resolves the issue, and I get straight to work writing down the agenda, a tedious task.
The class starts the day by copying the agenda in their binder reminder. Solomon immediately pulls out his Chromebook, a thing that most of the class is smart enough not to do. After some time he puts it away, coming to his senses. We quiet down for the "take-a-minute", this week's being about six minutes, five minutes longer than usual. Ms. Nakada then shows her blog to the class, forgetting to finish it last week, and quickly makes some last minute adjustments.
After we shift gears to G•Q•Q•L (Grammar Quote Question Lines) and this week's grammar is alliteration/allusions. After Ms. Nakada explains what alliteration/allusions are, we review our quote:
"
Besaydoo, we whisper to each other across the country.
Yalie Kamara

We discuss how the quote is from the poem "Besaydoo" by Yalie Kamara. We then discuss the million dollar question, can money buy happiness? (See what I did there?) Truman believes that money can't buy happiness, while Ezra believes it can, but indirectly. Ms. Nakada tells us how if we had a lot of money, we will always be wanting more, and someone will always be better than us 😢. I personally believe that money can buy happiness because it can buy me a years subscription to the Headspace™ app, which the video said is good for me, and I trust the video more than my own common sense.
Now, the gifts of words. Ms. Nakada made us aware of the fact that she would be gone all week due to a medical procedure (good luck!) and Ms. Smith will be our sub. She tells us how important it is to give the gift of words to parents, because they greatly appreciate it. Ms. Nakada kindly passed out some Hershey Kisses™ a gift to the class.
The week's lines are "Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening" and "Good Hours" both by Robert Frost. We discuss the first quote which talks about a man on a horse, who knows he may die, but decides the time isn't right for him. And now the bell so rudely interrupts me, indicating that this period is over and we must leave the class.
