CLASS

The class was slowly filling up as the bell rang. On their way in, Jonah and Luca had a dispute to settle. Is milk pronounced "milk,"(the right way) or "melk?"(The wrong way) Ms. Nakada agreed with Luca that it was pronounced, "milk" and they sat down. Ethan goes up to the board and reads his blog. He chose a wheel as the choice of picking for the next blogger. He switched up on his own team and put everyone on his side on the wheel, leaving the room stunned. Ethan read out the names and didn't say mine until right at the end. It spun and spun but landed on the name Luca. He was hopeless and at a loss for words. Nevertheless he went up and started typing away with his pointer fingers while staring at the keys.

The class took out their books and silently read for a couple minutes. Ms. Nakada broke the quiet, still room, and started the conversation. She asked for people to share their three word summary and their picture summary. The topic quickly switched to explaining and dissecting parts of the poems and giving their own explanation of it. The listening classroom turned quickly to a talking classroom when Ms. Nakada mentioned a possible minimum day. They discussed the characters and their personalities while also understanding the feeling of the story.

This transitioned into our Reading Journals and Week 1 lines. The line was, "Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?" by Mary Oliver. The class watched a video, listening to the whole poem and not just the excerpt. They talked about what the poem meant and what the main ideas were. You only live once it is your choice what you do with it was the main idea.

Ms. Nakada passed around a worksheet to every student. They had to answer some questions and pick their own word for 2025. Luca cut this section short because he was doing his worksheet. The bell rang and class ended.

Goodbye.
