Readers Workshop: Lit. Circles

HW RJ 8.4 Lit. Circle Books - 14 iReady Lessons

Usually, I'd include a sentence of how everyone came into the classroom, whether people squeezed past each other or strolled in. But this time, I'm putting in this sentence. Because I forgot what happened.

Fast forward to basically a few minutes ago, Andres had read his blog and decided on The Wheel. Four people were on it--once again, my memory eludes me, but I do remember one person; Cielle. You all already know what happened, buttt... I'm going to yap about it anyways. As I sat in my chair, my gaze was locked on the TV screen with prayers running through my mind. There was four people, me being one, and perhaps my evades of the blog had come to an end. The Wheel spun and spun, the arrow, thingy, I guess, slowing down right on my name. My body slumped in my chair yet quickly sat up as the wheel didn't stop just yet. I thought it might land on Cayden--no, it'd land on my name.. well, it might!

Obviously, it landed on my name. I'm writing this blog, no?

But although the hope that was falsely bestowed upon my pitiful self quickly vanished, it was instead replace with a sort of laughter.

The Wheel had landed on the singular pixel that separated my name and Cayden'. I'd say just my luck, but I don't actually have that much bad luck. Of course, I probably just jinxed it. But anyways, I dragged my tired body into the bloggers' chair and began to type away.(child labor!!)

Class Begins

Now.. I can only give you tid bits of what happens in the first ten minutes of class, since I was typing the blog and managing to jot down the notes projected onto the TV. But there was word about Bernie somethings' age, reliable sources, brainrot, costumes in target, and probably some other stuff. You can see how bizarre this conversation sounded to me once I read this. Which, I am right now, but not right now right now. Or... something like that. But after this wonderful discussion, Ms. Nakada began to pass out a paper including a list of Black authors and a paper we'd need to fill out. I know now it's a research project. Then, somehow, Kanye West came up, and people talked about how he changed and is now a Nazi. These voices quickly quieted down after literally less than a minute, and I typed this sentence about it. On the TV, Ms. Nakada then began to talk a bit about the research project, which I didn't catch because I was typing about Kanye being a Nazi. But after that, we descended into our literature circles, and a group of kids surrounded me as they lined up to tell Ms. Nakada the author they chose. I skimmed over the list of people finding the people with the coolest names and kept them in mind. After that, I used this time to edit my blog. Probably has a million mistakes, but I'm too tired to fix anything other than the "then" that was autocorrected into "than". Ms. Nakada than repeatedly reminded people of how much time we had, her voice saying the same bunch of words a multitude(wow big word) of times. After a minute or two, it got uncomfortably quiet for me since the only sound heard was the typing of keys. I'm typing way too slow right now, and the space bar is way too loud!! Thankfully, literature circles ended right as I ended that sentence, and I resumed my engrossment in this blog. People chatted about the pages being read, while Sage was sitting alone without me(I'm sorry SageπŸ™). Oh, by the way, Sage predicted that I would be chosen with her super duper awesome intuition, so there you go Sage. I included that like you asked me. Bet you thought I wouldn't huh? Well I did... so yea. Anyways, I need to finish this blog, because class has two minutes left. So everyone finished their logs, packed up and left. Probably. I'm writing this in advance. But yea, that's the end. Bye.
