HW: RJ 13.3 Read and summarize a poem

Beginning of Class:

The bell rang as we all shuffled into class. I was feeling fine at first, until Caidyn called my name from her seat across the room. She asked me if I had done the blog yet, and I said no. Just like Jonah, Caidyn got this devious little smirk as she sat back down. I didn't think it was that big of a deal until she turned to Luca, who was in charge of picking the next blogger. Great. I had already accepted my fate and was not at all surprised when I was chosen.

"O Captain! My Captain!":

After I sat down in the bloggers chair, Ms. Nakada read the poem, "O Captain! My Captain!" as we all scribbled it down in our reading journals. After we finished discussing it, we moved on to writing our poem of the day.

Poem of the Day:

The class quieted as we all got to work on our poems. The prompts of the day were, "Write a letter to an ancestor or a stranger or a lover" and, "If the wound is where the light enters you, how do you heal?" Ezra, Nason, Sage, Jonah, Luca, Marcel, and Ms. Nakada shared their poems. Ms. Nakada had written a new kind of poem, one she hadn't done before. Sadly, I wasn't able to finish my poem because I had writer's block.

Week 13: Quiz:

As we transitioned from poem writing to taking the quiz, everyone got quiet again. The quiz only took a couple of minutes, and if you did the Week 13: G-Q-Q-L, it wasn't that hard.

Open House Display:

For Open House, we're all submitting what we plan to present to the parents. I think i'll present my poems from this week, plus all the ones I do up until Thursday. (Can I do that Ms. Nakada?) Ok, the bell's about to ring so lets do this quick;

- Leila: 3 times for lying

- Alyssa: 2 times

- Sadie: 3 times (remember that time you broke the truce in happy ball? Me too.)

The bell rang and we all left to go to science.
