BOOK PROJECTS

Step Up to Writing

HW: RJ 5.4 Read for 20 - 30 minutes or iReady.

When I walked into class, I assumed today would be an easy day. I was doing my classwork while listening to Miri's blog. Then, all of a sudden, after she completed her blog, she said Jonah's name and my own. I was surprised because I THOUGHT we were friends. Ms. Nakada gave us a choice to spin a wheel to decide who is the next writer for the day. The wheel spun, and everyone, including me, thought it would land on Jonah based on how the wheel was slowing down, but the wheel spun for slightly too long, and landed on me. When it landed on me, I was in shock 😲.

I got situated into the blog chair, Ms. Nakada instructed everyone to read for around five minutes. After the reading time was over, Ms. Nakada started to tell us the next assignment, the Book Projects. She gave the class a paper to staple into our English notebooks, which had information on this new project! After we stapled the instructions into our notebooks, we had to underline certain dates and information. She emphasized the phrase, "DO NOT USE MOVIE STILLS."

Ms. Nakada helped us understand the instructions, so we could do well on the Book Project. She gave us examples on other projects that were done in previous years. Some people had some questions. Solomon asked if he could make a sword which Ms. Nakada was not fond of. Ms. Nakada asked the entire class what they want to do for the Book Project assignment, many people weren't sure on what to do for the assignment, but Jesse asked if he could do his Book Project on the Bible which is interesting.

The class started to pack up at 11:50, Ms. Nakada stated that we didn't have enough time for the Step Up to Writing, and she wasn't surprised. End of class; end of blog.
