The bell rang and everyone sat in their assigned seats. Greg went up to the front of the classroom and read out his blog for the class. He then had to pick someone for the blog, and without hesitation, picked me. I got the Chromebook and started writing the blog, feeling betrayed.

11:11 - 11:20
As I was starting to write the blog, Ms. Nakada instructed everyone to write in their reading journals the independent reading for the week. After everyone was done writing, the classroom started their independent reading.

11:21 - 11:40
Everyone took out their English notebooks and added "Week 5: Grammar, Quote, Question, Song" to their table of contents.

    Complete sentences: Subject - Who/What

- Quote: "Once you learn to read, you will forever be free."
                                                                           -Fredrick Douglas
Ezra stated that "This Black American abolitionist means that reading is such a power that when learned, provides knowledge in the written form. Such a power frees you from any situation."

- Question: What is your history as a reader?

11:41 - 11:50
Ms. Nakada passed out the School Trip A.C.E.s and asked the groups if they were able to present. Table C and Table E were the only tables unready to present. Table A was first to present.

Table A - Ch. 1
"I really hope my parents start to let ME desire what's best for me... But then again, does any thirteen year old really know what's best for them."
They talked about how teenagers should be able to do what they think is best for them.

Table B - Ch. 2
They were confused about "Bed, Bugs, & Beyond" on page 39.

Table C - Ch. 3
"No Jordan. A computer glitch mixed up all the trip leaders!"

Table D - Ch. 4
They answered that Maury used his privilege to buy room service for him and his friend.

Table E - Ch. 5
They answered that Samira is aware of how her insults affect other people and is aware of others.

After the presentations, The class started to pack up at Ms. Nakada's command. and the period ended.
