Luke's First Blog

 The Agenda: take a minute : blog corrections : readers workshop : week 7: G - Q - Q -S : Banned Books Week : Homework: R.J. 7.2  T.O. Chapter: 3

Near the start of the day, we all sat down and wrote down the Agenda. Eventually, we all started standing up, while Ms. Nakada was calling names and the kids whose names were called sat down. I thought she was doing some fancy new way of taking attendance, but turns out she was figuring out who hasn't done the blog. Like with last week, I opted to do the blog, and today I finally got to do it! Unlike the rest of the class who treated doing the blog like cleaning the kitty litter box, I just walked up and did it like a normal person.

We all then started recapping what happened in chapter 2 of The Outsiders, which eventually turned into Ms. Nakada telling us the difference in The Outsiders book and movie. We also wrote down some more information about the book in our reading journals. This is because we got to learn more about the characters that were introduced in the last chapter. We even learn about new characters in this chapter.

We then also did popcorn reading as a class, and some of the students also read in funny voices. This chapter in the book mostly takes place in a drive-in movie. Where the conflict mostly involves around one of Pony's friends harassing two new female characters who one of them becomes Pony's new friend. The chapter also involves a flashback where Johnny literally almost died, which is told by Pony to Cherry - Pony's new friend and one of the harassed girls - who told him that Socs have their own troubles (up until today I thought Socs was pronounced like socks).

Before Ms. Nakada dismissed us, we wrote down our question for the day about banned books. A few minutes later, we were dismissed from third period, and I got to do my first blog in this class, and it only took me over a month after the start of school to finally do it (you're welcome everyone who didn't want to do it today).
