HOMEWORK
RJ 7.1 T.O. Ch.2
As the class shuffled into room 207 on this fateful day, I already knew my fate. As the final members of the class wrote down their Agenda for the day and listened to the meditation I had packed up my things for the move to the DREADED blogger's table. Jonah Charles Vetter Parker finished reading his blog as I walked up to the desk before he even said my name. I knew this moment would come, but I didn't expect it to come from one of my closest peers as I felt betrayed. He claims that he chose me because I put him on the wheel to be the blogger, but I was just enforcing the rule as when Nuela asked who hadn't done the blog, Jonah didn't even raise his hand and I had to be just.
The Outsiders Discussion
As I finished the first paragraph Ms. Nakada and the class (including that no good dirty rotten Jonah) started to discuss the rest of the first chapter of The Outsiders that we didn't finish the other day. We talked about the new characters we had been introduced to. We also discussed the conflicts and resolution of the first chapter. We came to the conclusion that the conflict was that the Socs jump Ponyboy and that Sodapop is going to marry his girlfriend Sandy. We came to the resolution that the rest of the gang chases the Socs off as Ponyboy isn't too injured.
Readers Workshop
The class settled into silence as everyone started to read and the only sound was the occasional chair squeak and the keys on the blogger's laptop typing away. Everyone got comfortable even in the weirdest ways as Janniel used his two chairs and multiple people laid their heads on the table.
Week 7: G.Q.Q.S
The class finished reading chapter two of The Outsiders as Ms. Nakada set up the notebook page for our Grammar Sentence Study Three. The phone rang as Ms. Nakada rushed to the back to take the call and then did the attendance well everyone started talking about the NaNoWriMo. We started discussing the different types of sentence which includes simple sentences, compound sentences, and the subject of today's lesson complex sentences. She gave an example about how an eighth grader at Emerson Ryan goes zoom zoom but if you take out "an eighth grader at Emerson" the sentence is still a viable sentence.
We started discussing our quote for the week of "Banning books gives us silence when we need speech. It closes our ears when we need to listen. It makes us blind when we need sight." by Stephen Chbosky. We started writing down our thoughts about this quote, and Ms. Nakada gave out papers talking about censorship of banned books. We started talking about the availability of banned books at Emerson and various banned books and why they are banned.
END OF CLASS
As the bell rang and everyone packed up I considered who I would pick to do the blog should I leave it to chance, pick a friend(not anymore) like Jonah, or possibly a different option. But that will be decided tomorrow as I don't want to be late to science.
