NaNoWriMo Day 14 / Session 1

Week 14: G.Q.Q.S.L.

NaNo Session 2

HW: Novels 47% - 70%

35% by tomorrow or call home

Start of class

In the beginning of class, everyone entered and took a minute to get adjusted to their new seats from yesterday. Ms. Nakada played the take-a-minute, and a lot of people opened their Chromebooks and were working on their novels. Then, Sadie read her blog. When she was finished, she chose a wheel to decide the next blogger, and it landed on my name. I moved to the seat at the front.

Middle of class

Next on the agenda, was our first novel-writing session. We were in the lead again of all the classes. For ten minutes we worked on our novels. Once this time was up, we took out our reading journals and listened to our Week 14 Song, which was "Livin' on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi. Everyone sang along to the chorus. This was the song this week because we should be halfway to finishing our novels by tomorrow. Our lines were the NaNoWriMo Pep Talk by Mark Osorio. We took turns reading about how Mark Osorio wrote four novels in nine months and his techniques. These included writing the ending first, giving himself a reward like pretzels, and reminding himself why he was writing (his love of the story.) We gathered that he was advising us not to stress about the day-to-day.

End of class

We did a last writing session, then packed up. Lastly, Ms. Nakada dismissed us and we left for fourth period.
