Week 13 GQQS

Writer's Workshop: Essays

NaNoWriMo Day 6

HW : NaNo 18%-30%

Beginning of Class

Ethan was up to read aloud his blog. After that he chose to do a wheel of names. He had put Maddy seven times and a bunch of other people on the wheel, so I thought the odds of me being chosen wouldn't be that high. My luck ran out and I was chosen to do the blog.

Week 13: GQQS

We started off class with our Week 13 song, titled "Matilda" by Harry Styles. We discussed that the song was written from a third person point of view. Matilda was raised in a household where she was constantly mistreated. Ezra's favorite line was, "You can let it go" because it was short and deep.

In NaNoWriMo, there's a rule where you have to send a check to an organization that you don't like, and if you don't complete your goal by the end of the month you have to send the money to them. People thought that it was cruel.

Writers Workshop

Ms. Nakada gave the signal to transition into writers workshop. Before people fully settled into it, Miri had cracked something. This caused a discussion about how if you hurt yourself you should make it worse to make the pain go away. After that, the class slowly became silent. Ms. Nakada mentioned that if you're not at 10% at the end of the day then she would send a text home to alert your parents that you needed to be spending more time on your novel. The class remained silent while Ms. Nakada checked up on people who missed the week 12 quiz or missed last week's binder reminder. She updated the Triumphant Chart. Ezra was in the lead with 30% done.

End of Class

Our class was 15% done of our NaNoWriMo Novels. The bell rang, and everyone was dismissed.
