NaNoWriMo Day 4

[HW] NaNo 12% - 20%!

Start of Class

As the bell rang and we settled into class, I felt safe about not doing the blog. After we filled in our Binder Reminders, Ms. Nakada showed us the Take a Minute for the week. It was about not sticking to the past or worrying too much about the future. Luca showed us his blog and he did the Wheel of Names. I thought I was safe because for the past few days, there was a pattern in which the person who did the blog will choose the same person 8 eight times and only two other people. But today was different.  Luca instead did one of every person who didn't do the blog yet. I thought I was safe because there wasn't a big chance of landing on me. But to my surprise, it landed on me. I was devastated. I really didn't want to be behind on my work and on my novel. But I guess that's life.

NaNoWriMo

After I settled into the blogger's chair, the class started writing their NaNoWriMo novels. Some people had trouble getting in to their accounts, but all was mainly fine. Not much really happened during NaNoWriMo that was big, which is good because I got more time to work on my novel.

Week 13 G-Q-Q-S

After NaNoWriMo, we transitioned into our week 13 notes. Grammar was POV and verb tense. Ms. Nakada told us how we should keep our POV consistent or deliberately changing. She also talked about how present tense gives a sense of urgency and how present tense gives the opportunity to reflect.

Our quote was by Salvador Dali. "Have no fear of perfection. You will never reach it." - Salvador Dali

We agreed they this artist is saying that you can let go of the idea of perfection.

Writer's Workshop: Essays

After we finished the quote, we talked about our essays. Ms. Nakada gave some time to the people who didn't finish their introductions some time to do so. After that, she gave us time to start our body paragraphs.

End of Class

After the essays, Ms. Nakada updated the chart and told us that if we're behind on our novels, we should catch up over time instead of doing it all in one day. After a surprisingly relaxing day, the bell rang and we made our way to science class.
