or Read/ Revise novels

    Start of Class

We started class by writing our agendas in our notebooks, and Maddy came up to read her blog. I soon realized that there was a very high chance I would be chosen. Once she had finished her blog, my name was put on the wheel with Tali. The wheel turned for what felt like an eternity, until it landed on my name. I slowly approached the chair, and began writing. Ms. Nakada went over our reading journals for the week, explaining how we should be spending 20-40 minutes on English homework this week. Then, Ms. Nakada played the song of the week. The song was "Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story?" by Lin Manuel Miranda. We went over how the song is about who tells your story, and the women singing it who got to love 50 more years than her husband. Moving on to talk about our novels, we discussed how even if they sit in the bottom of a drawer our legacy will move on with it. Talking about our submissions, we went over the other 4 points that the bell cut off yesterday, which was conventions. Going over the research portion again, Ms. Nakada showed us an example from her submission which helped our understanding.

End of Class

Ms. Nakada gave us the rest of the period to work on our submissions, which gave me time to catch up on my novel. Some people in the class asked Ms. Nakada if they could use the Comic Sans font, which she said yes to, but only if they didn't want their novels to look great. This led some people to have a small discussion on the different fonts, and which didn't look good. As the class quieted down, people began to slowly become more focused on their work. Since it was a short day, we only had until 11:10 this period meaning I had to quickly write the blog in order to work on my submission. Time went by quickly, and the bell rang as I wrapped up my blog.
