The start of class went in a blur, kids dragging themselves to their seat as the dread of school set in. Sitting down in my seat, I jotted down the Agenda for the day and watched as Ms. Nakada pulled up the blogs. Alyssa had already read hers aloud on Thursday, so she just did the wheel. Me, Tali, Grace and Leila were put on there, Grace having her name put three times. I didn't expect for the wheel to land on me. I had evaded it plenty of times before. But it seemed as though my streak of luck had ended, otherwise I wouldn't be typing these words at this moment.
The sound of papers ruffling flooded the room as Ms. Nakada began to go over the Grammar. We went over CAPS; Capitalization, All sentences make sense, Punctuation, Spelling. We wrote little examples for each, and I hastily scribbled them down as I tried to keep up.
Next was the quote;
"A lot of people notice when you succeed, but they don't see what it takes to get you there."
-Dawn Staley
We concluded that this quote was about how the effort behind victory is often hidden or unnoticed, using Dude, Perfect as an example.
Next was the question; Who is telling the stories? Who are they about? Who are they for? Why are they important? Everyone silently wrote their answer, giving me time to catch up on the blog.
Once we finished our G-Q-Q-L(although we only did the grammar, quote and question), we wrote down the criteria for our NaNoWriMo Submissions. It included the following;
Cover-Title-Author(Image).............................four points
Synopsis-Short Summary(Three Sentences)...four points
About the Author(Third Person)......................four points
Dedication-Authors Note................................four points
Beginning Excerpt(100-300 Words)...............four points
Allusion Excerpt(100-300 Words)..................four points
Research Excerpt(100-300 Words).................four points
Once Ms. Nakada finished going over what an Excerpt is for the hundredth time, we only had four minutes till the bell would ring. Everyone packed up, chattering and blabbing as I shoved my English Notes into my bag, wrapping up this awesome sauce blog and waiting for the bell that would signal the end of class.
