As the bell rings, everyone files in. They take their seats and pull out their binder reminder to write down the agenda and homework for the day.
Truman presents his blog and when he is finished, he asks Ms. Nakada to spin the wheel with the names of the people who haven't gone yet. Ms. Nakada spins the wheel and it lands on Aria.
While Aria starts typing her blog, Ms. Nakada walks around the room, checking the students' reading journals and making sure they are finished.
The class opens their Inside Out & Back Again books and silently reads for a couple of minutes.
Then, Ms. Nakada starts a discussion about the last two sections of Inside Out & Back Again. The class talks about how Ha and her family is living in the basement of a cowboy's house in Alabama and how her mother demands that they learn English. They discuss how Ha struggles to learn English and that learning a second language is challenging. Marcel says that Ha gets bullied when Ms. Nakada asks how school goes for her. Jonah says how Ha's school is separated by skin color.
When the class finishes the discussion, everyone takes out their Chromebooks to take the Week 2 Quiz.
Students start to pack up, and the bell rings.
