week 1: Song "Shallow"
writer's workshop RJ/ 2025 word of the year
HW: I.O.&B.A. p.37 - 70 and iReady 45 min. for the week!
I walk into the class and begin writing in my Binder Reminder. Other students were doing the same. Ms. Nakada called Daniel up to the front of the class to read his blog to the class. After he completed his blog, Daniel asked for the wheel. He chose everybody on the left side of the class, the side I was sitting on, to be put on the wheel. When I saw my name on the wheel, I began packing up my stuff. I had a feeling it was going to be me. The wheel spun and it landed on me! I sat down in the blog chair while Ms. Nakada began the lesson.
Reader's Workshop: Ms. Nakada took out her reading journal and told us to do the same. We began taking notes on the first 30 pages of Inside Out & Back Again. We talked about the brothers of Ha. Aria told us the names of the brothers and others said their ages.
Week 1: Song "Shallow": For this song, in our GQQSL, we listened to "Shallow" by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. Truman thought that this song was "...good and bad." We discussed how a shallow part, of a body of water, can be dangerous or safe. After that, we discussed how relationships can be shallow.
We did not have enough time to do the writer's workshop, the class went by quickly.
