Take a Minute/Blog
As the period began, everyone entered the classroom and began to write down the agenda as they found their seats. After the take-a-minute, Ms. Nakada called Maddy up to read her blog, but she was hesitant. However, once Ms. Nakada allowed Sage to join her for emotional support, she went up and read her blog, which was very good. She decided to spin the wheel that was half Caidyn, one quarter Natalie, and one quarter me. It landed on my name and I moved to the blogger's chair.
Literature Circles/Quiz
After the blog was read, if we had not finished our books yet, we moved to our literature circles and discussed our books, which many groups were nearing the end of. Ms. Nakada moved around the room, checking reading journals. Once the timer went off, we returned to our seats for the Week 8 Quiz, which Ms. Nakada said we would need extra time for because of a complicated question. The question was about the meaning of Sojourner Truth's "Ain't I a Woman". About ten minutes into the quiz, many people groaned as we discovered that the time limit prevented some from finishing their ACE and submitted automatically. Ms. Nakada fixed it, and gave everyone a second opportunity to take the quiz.
End of Class
As many were still finishing the blog, the bell rang and Ms. Nakada dismissed everyone to fourth period.
