Start Of Class

As class began everybody settled into their seats and began writing down the agenda. Ms. Nakada then told us that our new take a minute this week is longer than normal, so we are only going to watch about a minute of it. The take a minute was about relaxing over the weekend, and how we can sometimes worry about what's to come the following week. After the take a minute was done Alyssa began reading her blog from Thursday. As she finished I realized I was most likely going to be chosen for the blog today. She decided to let the wheel choose, and as the wheel spun around all the names it eventually landed on mine.

Catch Up

Since most of the class was gone watching the movie on Friday they weren't able to put the lines in their books, or do the Week 7 quiz. Ms. Nakada began playing the video for our lines last week, titled We Real Cool by Gwendolyn Brooks. After the video was done the class took down notes and then went into doing the quiz from last week.

Middle Of Class

Once everybody had finished the quiz Ms. Nakada told us to get our english notebooks out, and begin writing down our GQQL. We started by writing down our Grammar, which was drama. Ms. Nakada went over the three different types of drama which is script, acts, and scenes. We then moved into our quote this week, which was by Michelle Obama. "Practice who you want to be every single day." Ms. Nakada put on a video of the former first lady speaking the quote. After that, we talked about what the quote was saying. We came to the consensus that you need to try to be the person you plan to be later in life, now. We also compared the quote to different sports, and the school play.

End Of Class

We began going over Literature circles for the week, where Ms. Nakada told us we would have two weeks to finish them. Everyone went into their Literature circles to talk about plans for the week. The class brought their backpacks with them, as that was where we finished the day. The bell rang, and everyone left the room to next period.
