Start of Class
As everyone shuffled into class, we all started to write down the agenda for the day. Ms. Nakada put on the take a minute video. After the video was over, Grace came to the front of the classroom to read her blog. After Grace was done, she made Ms. Nakada spin the wheel to determine who the next blogger was. As the wheel slowed down, it landed on my name (Sadie).
G-Q-Q-L
As I was getting settled in the bloggers chair, everyone got out their notebooks to write down the question for the week.
How do you experience privilege and oppression?
After we all write down the question, everyone drew a t-chart on their paper. One side was for Privileges, and the other side was for oppression. We all wrote that technology, awareness, education, connections, housing, and more were many different privileges we have. On the other side everyone wrote that age, social status, race, religion, addiction, and more are some ways of oppression.
Lit Circles
After finishing the t-chart, we all got into our Lit Circle groups. Everyone made a prediction on what was going to happen in their book. Afterwards, everyone started to read. As the timer rang, we all started talking about what happened in the chunk of the book that we read.
The End of Class
The bell rang, as everyone was packing up, leaving to go to the fourth period.
