HW: I-Ready 15 Lessons!

Start of Class:

As I walked into class, I knew my fate. I was officially the last person left to do the third blog. However, after Natalie (my smol bean) presented her blog she chose to put Mrs. Dilmore on the wheel too. My friends looked at me as the wheel spun. Sage leaned over and told me to stop packing up because I still had a chance to not do it. But, I knew it was my time, and I was right.

Middle of Class:

When the class got all settled in, Ms. Nakada told the class to take out their English notebooks. Yesterday, we already completed the Grammar and Quote of the week, so started on the question of the week.

Question: How does media reinforce/challenge gender norms?

After the class discussed what their opinions were on the question, we came to a conclusion that the question was about reinforcing gender norms about colors, toys, pink tax, clothes, and expectations. Usually after the question we would do our lines, but today, Ms. Nakada decided for us to get into our lit circles and write our predictions, clarification, question, answer, and summary.

Story Time:

Prior to doing the blog, I was at nutrition and this big fat bug pooped on my lunchbox. Cielle said that it was just a fly, but she was wrong! Sage and I fought for our lives trying to get away from it. Sage then grabbed her old theater script and smacked the living daylights out of the bug. "Phew! It's dead." Sage said, but now it wasn't. Nuala and I spotted it on the ground dragging its injured body on the cement. "You should just put it out of its misery." Cielle said. So then, the heroic Nuala Campbell sacrificed her pink shoe and smacked the bug pressing it hard on the ground. It was finally dead. Sage and I thought we would be ecstatic but I wasn't. The bug lost its life for just breathing near us. I felt terrible. I suggested we name it and host a funeral, so that's what we did. I named the big fat bug Fred and now he is in heaven.

May he rest in paradise! In memory of Fred (died on 3/4/25)

End of Class:

After lit circles, the class transitioned into research for our black author project. Then shortly after, the bell rang and class was over! Anyways! That was my blog for today, make sure to like, subscribe, and turn on that most notification bell!
