HW: Read/Write a poem a day
Start of Class
At the start of class, everyone found their seats and began to write the agenda. Then, Greg went up to read his blog. Once he was finished, he chose to spin a wheel to pick the next blogger. Ethan was on it ten times, but I was picked instead and moved to the blogger's seat.
Week 15 Quiz
After the blog, the class quieted as Ms. Nakada made the Week 15 Quiz available. Then she quickly explained how some answers in the matching question can be true for some parts of a poem, and how we need to pay attention to get that question correct.
NaPoWriMo Day 25
After a few minutes, we moved on to NaPoWriMo. The prompts for the day were, "a memory poem," "write a poem about you favorite recurring dream character," and "write a myth that takes place somewhere you know very well." Ms. Nakada checked binder reminders as the class wrote. Then, she asked everyone how many poems they had written, and some people were already finished, such as Caidyn and Luca. Once she was finished, we moved on and read "Neither Time Nor Grief is a Flat Circle" by Christina Olson. We talked about each line, including how the author uses the camellias and breaks the fourth wall. The three words were beauty, dog, and grieving.
End of Class
In the remaining minutes, we finished our poems and reading journals until the bell rang.
