Class

We all shuffled into class as the bell rang. It was a normal day, but Jonah had a cheeky smile on his face. I thought nothing of it and thought to myself, "He wouldn't turn on me, right?" Nason read Solomon's masterful blog but then it turned out to be Nason the whole time. The time came for Nason to choose the next blogger. Jonah still had that devious smirk on his face, and it hit me. As Nason told everyone who hadn't gone yet to raise their hand, Jonah yelled out, "Luca hasn't gone yet." As I stare at him, no life left to stop him, I was picked.

Ms. Nakada started off by passing out a poem to everyone in the class, Because you Asked about the Line Between Prose and Poetry, by Howard Nemorov. We took turns reading the poem and then annotating. Ms. Nakada then reminded everyone to do their daily poems and reading journals. After five minutes of the only sound in the class being my clicking, everyone shared their poem with their desk-partner. My personal favorite shared poem was Jonah's being about the Minecraft movie. This was followed by everyone pulling out their Chromebooks to vote for the Book Bracket. The end of class was mostly finishing up work. A couple student passed around papers to put in our portfolios and class was over.
