Poetry Submissions

HW: RJ 17.1 read towards IRP goal - 30 iReady Lessons - Poetry Submissions due Friday

    Ok, this time, I am severely tired and I don't currently have the brain capacity to execute this blog, so I am going to make this really short. In the beginning of class, Andres read his blog, and it was very coolio. We had new seats so I was sat next to Marcel, which I thought would be a good thing. However, I later found out it would NOT be. Andres decided to use the wheel, and I thought I would be ok. But Marcel had other plans. I had managed to evade the wheel and raise my hand by just putting it against the side of the table. However, Marcel had somehow been keeping track of who had done the blogs(or something like that,) and new I hadn't done it yet. Long story short, HE SOLD ME OUT. I am highly offended and will be eating all of his ice.

    After this, I went to the bloggers chair to write. Luckily(despite this unlucky circumstance,) Ms. Nakada had to write all of the weekly notes on the white board--she hadn't yet since she had to sub for a class. I took this time to write and wallow in self pity. Then, we did the grammar and quote;

Grammar:

poetry structures - form, rhyme, feeling/tone, word choice, figurative language, alliteration, allusion

Quote:

"If you have the feeling something is wrong, don't be afraid to speak up."

                                                            -Fred Korematsu

After discussion, we determined this Japanese American activist is saying to stand up for what you believe in. Once we wrote that down, the class began on working on their poetry submissions. The class was silent for a while, but then the bell rang and every packed up before leaving for fourth period.
